Couper Samuelson, previously at Weston Pictures, is now EVP, Production at Blumhouse. His former colleage Ryan Horrigan is the new Director of Development at New Regency.
Brooke Breton is now a senior production exec at Illumination Entertainment. Kit Giordano, previously VP at Red Hour, is the new DoD at Illumination, and Kristin Wong-Ward has been promoted to CE.
Elishia Holmes, previously of GK Films, is now at Scott Free.
Heather Hutt has left Gunn Films, where she was CE.
WANTED 2 Wanted Some Writers…and It Got Them.
Derek Haas and Michael Brandt have been hired to write WANTED 2, the sequel to the 2008 Angelina Jolie action flick. They wrote the original, and are back for round two.

Lionsgate Acquires DEAD ISLAND Rights
Back in February, we reported that The Sean Daniel Company is attached to produce the adaptation of the zombie video game DEAD ISLAND. Now, Lionsgate has acquired the rights to project (no confusion this time, either). Friends of IOTG Sarah Perlman and Jason Brown will co-produce and exec produce, respectively.

Sources tell us that Zach Galifianakis has been offered the role of Anton, Burt Wonderstone’s “longtime friend and partner” in New Line’s BURT WONDERSTONE. Don Scardino is directing; Steve Carell is playing Burt.
