ItsontheGrid was started by a group of Motion Picture Literary managers who were trying to track spec scripts and open writing assignments in an easy, searchable way, including the “who, what, where, when and how” for every project in the market.
Since its launch, the site has expanded exponentially, and now is the ultimate resource for:
- Feature film projects in active development and in production in Hollywood. Over 1000 OWAs (Open Writing Assignments), over 500 ODAs (Open Directing Assignments) and thousands of other projects currently in development and in production in Hollywood.
- Every spec script that’s gone out wide since 2009, and most of what came out in 2008.
- Released movies, including credits and box office data for every relevant Hollywood project released in the last 25 years, and then some.
- Every company involved with every project. Over 5,000 agencies, management companies, production companies, studios and other buyers, including contact information.
- Every person associated each project. Over 26,000 agents, managers, executives, producers, directors and writers, including contact information.
ItsontheGrid is similar to the hard copied OWA and Casting Grids created by the big agencies, except that its searchable, updated daily, includes full credits and contact information, and available to all Hollywood professionals. We designed the system so users can easily search for specific People, Companies and Projects (filtering by specs, OWAs, ODAs, development status, genre, and more, depending on subscription level) using the “Quick Search” and “Advanced Search” features. It’s easier than ever to search for an entire company’s development slate, or see a person’s past and future credits.
In addition, the system allows users to store private notes associated with every Person, Project and Company in the system. Users can also track projects and return to the site later to see any updates on the projects that interest them most.
