THE LONE RANGER GETS A RELEASE DATE
New day, new LONE RANGER news. Today Disney announced that THE LONE RANGER will hit theatres on December 31, 2013 May 31, 2013. Prior to the recent budget-related kerfluffle, the film was set to be released on December 21, 2012. While waiting six extra months for what we expect to be a good time at the movies is a bummer, seeing Johnny Depp in a cowboy hat should be worth the wait.
WOODY ALLEN CHANGES TITLE OF UPCOMING FILM
Woody Allen has changed to name of his new film from The Bop Decameron to NERO FIDDLED. Allen claims the change is a result of people not understanding the meaning of the original title. Thanks, Woody; “NERO FIDDLED” is much clearer.
PATTY JENKINS TO DIRECT THOR 2
Marvel Studios has hired Patty Jenkins to direct the superhero sequel Thor 2. Jenkins, who directed MONSTER, is an interesting choice for a variety of reasons. Not only is it uncommon to have a superhero movie directed by a woman, but Jenkins’ previous credits are all relatively low-budget films. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston will all return for the sequel as well.
OSCAR ISAAC LANDS LEAD IN COEN BROTHERS FILM
INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS has found its leading man: Oscar Isaac, currently on screen in DRIVE. Isaac can also be seen in the upcoming BOURNE LEGACY.
