CAREY MULLIGAN LANDS LEAD IN COEN BROTHERS FILM
CAREY MULLIGAN is the new Emma Stone. The starlet has been cast in the upcoming Coen Brothers project INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS, a 1960′s-set drama in which she’ll play opposite OSCAR ISAAC. Mulligan is currently filming THE GREAT GATSBY and is in negotiations for SPIKE JONZE‘s as-yet-untitled next flick.
BRADLEY COOPER TO JOIN U.N.C.L.E.
Looks like the casting carousel for THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. has stopped for BRADLEY COOPER. The in-demand actor has been offered the lead in the STEVEN SODERBERGH-directed spy drama which had been offerred to MATT DAMON and JOHNNY DEPP after GEORGE CLOONEY dropped out. That’s pretty heady company for the Hangover star.
CATHERINE ZETA-JONES JOINS ALL-STAR “BROKEN CITY” CAST
CATHERINE ZETA-JONES will be joining MARK WAHLBERG and RUSSELL CROWE in the upcoming BROKEN CITY. The drama, directed by ALLEN HUGHES, is about a private detective who investigates a potentially shady mayor, played by Crowe. Zeta-Jones will play the mayor’s wife.
SONY ESPOUSES “ASSASSIN’S CREED”
Sony is closing in on a deal with UBISOFT to develop a feature tentpole based on hit videogame ASSASSIN’S CREED. The elaborate plot of the game centers on a bartender who goes back in time to relive the memories of his ancestors in order to recover ancient artifacts.
