The Day in Film News - Aaron Eckhart, Jena Malone, Farmville Edition

AARON ECKHART TO STAR IN I, FRANKENSTEIN

Aaron Eckhart has landed the lead in Lionsgate’s upcoming I, Frankenstein. The project is a modern update of the Mary Shelley’s classic, with Eckhart playing the original monster (“Adam”) who finds himself in what’s effectively Gotham City. Stuart Beattie will direct; production is set to begin early next year.

TOY STORY WRITERS IN TALKS TO WRITE FARMVILLE SCRIPT

Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen, the brilliant minds behind TOY STORY, are reportedly in talks with Zynga to adapt wildly popular Facebook game FARMVILLE for the big screen. The game consists of users plowing land, planting crops and building barns. While the game isn’t exactly a thriller we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a Woody cameo. (And we’d settle for the Little Green Men.)
