Borys Kit at THR has the scoop on a big spec sale to Fox 2000 today: Tyro Lauryn Kahn’s romantic comedy, HE’S FUCKIN PERFECT, which went for “in the $1 million range” and has Will Ferrell and Adam McKay attached to produce through their Gary Sanchez banner. Kahn had been McKay’s assistant. The project is already on the fast track: We’re hearing there’s an offer out to a director already.
Not for nothing, but Kit clearly doesn’t read The Scoggins Report. Though he says today’s sale “…shows that with the right material, the spec market still has the occasional throbbing pulse despite years of decline,” our loyal audience knows 2011′s spec market has been on a tear all year.
