Grindstone Pictures has just nabbed the film rights to the 1954 novel “Christ Recrucified” by Nikos Kazantzakis. Kazantzakis is best known for writing “The Last Temptation of Christ”, which was adapted to film by Martin Scorsese in 1988 and raised a lot of controversy over its depiction of the life of Jesus Christ. This novel tells the story of a small town which is about to put on a traditional and intense passion play about Jesus. It is such an intense play that it is only performed once every seven years and draws large crowds from all over the country. Gil J. Botello and Vincent Baksanski are set to write the script.
