‘A Star is Born‘ lost its female lead, Beyonce Knowles, who was originally set to star as Esther Johnson. The musical-drama still has no lead male role, although Tom Cruise was a rumored possibility. The flick is a remake of the 1976 film about a young actress who meets Hollywood success and marries a famous leading man whose star wanes as hers shines brighter.
