Martin Scorsese has many films in his pipe line, but it looks like one has made its way to the front of the pack. Emmett/Furla Films have come on board to finance ‘Silence‘, an adaptation of Shusaku Endo’s novel where Jesuits try to spread Christianity in 17th century Japan. Irwin Winkler, Randall Emmett, and George Furla will produce. An official announcement for the film is expected to be made next month at the Cannes Film Festival.
