Julian Stone announces he’s in the process of writing a biopic of 1970s-era pro soccer player Robin Friday. The film, “The Greatest Footballer You Never Saw,” is about the unknown life of Friday, who was a cult hero for working-class fans and an icon who refused to take life seriously. He retired in 1977 and died in 1990 at the young age of 38.
The screenplay was adapted from a biography originally written by Paolo Hewitt and Paul McGuigan of the band Oasis.
