Actor Gael Garcia Bernal is set to star in the film, ‘The Dallas Buyer’s Club‘ alongside Matthew McConaughey. Hilary Swank was also set to star in the drama, but has since opted out.
Inspired by real-life events, the film is about a Texas electrician diagnosed with AIDS who began smuggling alternative drugs into the U.S. to help himself and other AIDS patients. Garcia Bernal will play an effeminate member of the club, a fellow AIDS patient who meets the electrician in the hospital.
The producers hope to start production in November.
