Friends Jonathan Ames and Jason Schwartzman optioned Bernard Malamud’s collection of short stories, ‘Pictures of Fidelman‘. The comedy will draw specifically from the stories “Still Life” and “Naked Dude” and will follow Arthur Fidelman, a hapless art student who travels to Rome in the mid-20th century. Schwartzman will also star in the film, and Stephanie Davis will produce.
