SOLD – Film Rights: Fox 2000 acquires rights to Nicholas Sparks’ novel ‘The Longest Ride’

Fox 2000 has acquired the film rights to Nicholas Sparks’ upcoming novel, ‘The Longest Ride’. The story follows two intertwining love stories. The deal is for $5 million, which makes this the biggest book deal of this year so far. This will be Fox 2000′s Elizabeth Gabler’s first adaption of a Nicholas Sparks novel after having successfully adapted such films as ‘Life of Pi‘, ‘The Devil Wears Prada‘, and ‘Marley & Me‘. Temple Hill’s Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen will produce, along with Theresa Park and Sparks. The film should be ready for release on Valentine’s Day 2015, and the book will hit shelves on September 24 of this year.
