The Weinstein Company has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to ‘Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters’, an adaptation of the first book of the ‘Vampire Academy’ young adult series by Richelle Mead. This will be TWC’s first young adult franchise, and it will follow two vampires who attend a school designed to help vampires remain somewhat human as they mature. Mark Waters will direct the Dan Waters adapted screenplay. The film should begin filming this summer, and TWC is eyeing a February 14, 2014 release date.
