Quvenzhané Wallis, nominated this year for a Best Actress Oscar for ‘Beasts of the Southern Wild‘, has signed on to star in ‘Annie‘ for Overbrook Entertainment. The musical will be directed by William Gluck and produced by James Lassiter, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Will Smith through Overbrook, along with Shawn Carter, Tyran Smith, and Jay Brown through Marcy Media. The screenplay for the film is currently being revised. The film will be released during the winter holiday season in 2014.
